‘The’ jazz bar in London, if not the entire UK. If you’re after a bit of an authentic jazz experience, this is the place to come. Running since 1959, all manners of famous names have graced the stage over the years, including Zoot Sims, Donald Byrd, Tom Waits and Elkie Brooks. You can just turn up on the night, but if you don’t mind a bit of preparation, the best thing to do is book a table in advance – you don’t have to eat, but it does guarantee your place in the crowd.Pickles, MyVillage
