The temperature outside is hitting 30 degrees Celsius. What better way to cool down in this London heatwave than to head for the coolest bar in town - the ice bar. You can book online before going in - its about £12 a head which gives you a thick coat (which the stewards throw on your head like a sheet) gloves are attached (note to self: don’t go off for ten mins trying to work out where your gloves are when they are dangling from your coat) and a frozen glass with first cocktail free. The bar is basically a fridge with a window on one side (you cant see out) and ice walls surrounding. A small bar in the middle suffices for service which is faster than you would expect. The experience starts off being quite exciting, lots of teenage tourists are snapping photos around you, but then quite quickly you realise its freezing and although you get booted out after 45 minutes, we leave after half and hour more than ready to face the heatwave once again.
Overall a brilliant experience, worth the money and a great treat to take a date before dinner, perhaps it would have been a little better if you could stay as long as you wanted (if you could stand the cold) and if the venue wasn’t so full of tourists
What a great place. You get in for 15 quid and get a large free cocktail to go along with it. You can choose from a fair selection and its served in an glass made of ice! They give you these funky poncho/eskimo jacket things to keep you warm in there where its well below zero. Its all very slick and a worthwhile experience.
When you get a bit chilly, just nip out and over to the bar across the corridor which is warm and salubrious to thaw out.

Maybe it’s down to my Scandinavian roots, but I love this place. Good music, warm coats at the entrance and drinks that are served in the rocks instead of on them! Okay, it might not be the place to hang out all night, as it’s way too cold and rather expensive. But it’s a great place to kick start an evening out with friends, or even as the ultimate ice-breaker for new people getting together!
I found this place cold, claustrophbic, expensive and ABSOLUT-y no fun at all. But, in terms of something different its a great novelty. You've got to go here at least once as it doesn't really get any wacky then this. A posers paradise, in ice!
